Guida WP e-Commerce: il tuo negozio on-line con WordPress

Scaricare il pacchetto dei file dal sito dello sviluppatore. E’ sempre aggiornato all’ultima versione quindi è sufficiente cliccare su DOWNLOAD per ottenere il pacchetto compresso dei file necessari.
Installazione:
- Scaricare il file compresso.
- decomprimerlo in una qualche cartella locale del vostro PC
- tramite FTP (consigliato) caricare tutti i file che avete appena ottenuto, dopo aver decompresso, nella cartella plugins della vostra installazione di WordPress, questa generalmente si trova in: ../wp-content/plugins
- Attendete la fine dell’upload dei file
- Andare nella propria Bacheca WordPress ed andate alla sezione Plugin: da quì attivate il plugin dal nome WP shopping chart
Bene, ora avete installato correttamente lo strumento per l’ecommerce del vostro sito. Per iniziare a settarlo correttamente bisogna però visualizzare il pannello delle impostazioni. Vediamo ora, passo per passo, come fare per avere un buon settaggio.
Localizzazione
La primissima cosa da fare per poter iniziare ad utilizzare questo strumento è poter cambiare la lingua in cui tutte le sue funzioni vengono visualizzate. Tale cambiamento di lingua ha effetto anche sulle pagine del vostro sito dedicate al negozio on-line. Per localizzare il plugin scaricate il file it_IT.php che trovate in questo post e seguite le istruzioni.
Settaggi
Nella vostra installazione di WordPress ora sarà visibile un nuovo indice che sarà appunto e-Commerce. Cliccate su di esso e vedrete comparire le voci che stanno sotto al menu principale di e-Commerce: analizziamole una alla volta.
Log Acquisti: clicca per ingrandire
è la pagina all’interno della quale saranno visibili le transazioni effettuate tramite il vostro sito. Vedrete comparire qualche cosa soltanto nel momento in cui un vostro potenziale acquirente compilerà il form dell’acquisto con tutti i dati che voi desiderate (lo vedremo in seguito) e cliccherà sul bottone dell’acquisto. Solo allora vedrete comparire le transazioni nella pagina del Log Acquisti.
Prodotti: clicca per ingrandire
I prodotti vanno inseriti generalmente uno alla volta a meno che non siano prodotti tutti uguali e che cambi semplicemente la “taglia della felpa” che state vendendo. E’ abbastanza intuitivo come completare i campi che vi si presentano davanti.
L’unica cosa veramente complicata, se come me vendete immagini, è far capire al plugin che deve far visualizzare le miniature come desidero io, ovvero con il mantenimento delle proporzioni dell’immagine. Di default le miniature dei prodotti sono 96×96 e devo dire che non fa al caso mio, però se vi trovate a vendere CD o abbigliamento, poco vi interessa. Le voci più “strane” sono:
- Tags Prodotto: funzionano ma non rimandano alla effettiva pagina del prodotto sul quale si desidera essere riportati.
- Gruppi Prodotto: sono i gruppi nei quali saranno categorizzati i vostri prodotti (vedi creazione gruppi prodotto)
- Controllo Variazioni: se vendete oggetti che hanno la stessa natura ma differiscono per taglia, dimensione o semplicemente costo(vedi creazione veariazioni)
- Download Prodotto: se vendete file digitali sarà il file che l’acquirente riceverà automaticamente assieme alla mail di conferma di avvenuto pagamento.
Gruppi Prodotto: clicca per ingrandire
La creazione di un gruppo è semplice: le categorie-gruppo di default sono Category e Brand, prendete Category, per esempio, e modificatene il nome in funzione di quello che voi vorreste vendere. Io per esempio l’ho nominata Fotografie. Selezionate il gruppo appena rinominato e all’interno di esso basterà cliccare Aggiungi Nuova Categoria per avere la schermata dello screenshot quì sopra. Datele un nome, la descrizione è opzionale e se vorrete poterete visualizzarla all’interno del negozio. L’inserimento dell’immagine la sconsiglio dato il fatto che non viene affatto ridimensionata alle dimensioni imposte. Per ovviare a questo problema dovreste creare una immagine delle esatte dimensioni alle quali vorreste che questa fosse visualizzata.
Variazioni: clicca per ingrandire
Le variazioni sono tutte le varianti che siete in grado di offrire di un vostro prodotto. Un esempio pratico è proprio la fornitura di stampe su supporti differenti. In questo caso dovrete nominare la vostra variazione con STAMPE SU, a seguire, nel campo Valori Variazione scriverete CARTA FOTOGRAFICA 60×40. Quello che il vostro acquirente vedrà in fase di acquisto è: STAMPA SU [CARTA FOTOGRAFICA 60x40].
Se avrete aggiunto più variazioni all’interno della stessa famiglia di variazioni otterrete, nel negozio, un menu a tendina che mostra tutti i prodotti che sono soggetti a variazioni di fornitura. Perciò, nel mio caso, sarà visibile la stampa su supporti differenti e con materiali differenti.
Marketing: clicca per ingrandire
Questa sezione la trovo inutile per quanto mi riguarda, anche perchè è difficile, fino a che non sarà implementato, che sia possibile usare i Coupon via Paypal, unico sistema di pagamenti che mi è possibile usare. Una cosa utile è però il fatto che questo plugin generi un feed dei vostri prodotti. Potete utilizzarlo come fosse un feed del vostro blog, le immagini di anteprima sono downloadabili attraverso il feed, non è dunque consigliabile inserire immagini eccessivamente grandi.
Opzioni Gateway Pagamento: clicca per ingrandire
Questa è una delle sezioni più importanti delle impostazioni del negozio, Sbagliare queste significa non riuscire a concludere transazioni, e senza nemmeno la possibilità di accorgersene.
Come metodo di pagamento io ho deciso paypal, è l’unico per il quale ero già pronto, avendo un account premier (verificate cosa significhi). Cliccate sul metodo/i di pagamento che decidete sia utilizzato come metodo di pagamento sulla pagina del checkout del vostro negozio. Decidendo per più di una modalità, alla fine degli acquisti, i vostri acquirenti avranno la possibilità di decidere con quale sistema pagare.
Facendo dunque solo riferimento alla opportunità di Paypal:
- cliccare su paypal come metodo di pagamento
- Nel riquadro accanto (a Dx), dal menu a tendina dei metodi di pagamento, selzionare paypal: automaticamente vi verrà indicata la connessione https che dovrete utilizzare per accedere ai servizi paypal
- immettete un indirizzo mail che puà ricevere i pagamenti (un indirizzo registrato e verificato sul vostro account paypal)
- IPN: io ho lasciato la spunta su NO, se spuntate SI, i pagamenti, una volta effettuati, vengono direttamnte aggiornati sul vostro sito alla voce Log Acquisti e vedrete che lo stato dei vostri ordini si sarà automaticamente impostato su Pagamento Ricevuto.
- Settate la moneta con la quale desiderate ricevere pagamenti
- override user name: non funziona.. ma se avete una pagina di checkout personalizzata sul sito di paypal, probailmente verrà visualizzata quella al posto dell’indirizzo mail al quale l’acquirente sta per inviare denaro.

Opzioni di Chckout: clicca per ingrandire
E’ un form composto da tanti campi nei quali inserire le informazioni che voi volete che i vostri acquirenti lascino per fare acquisti. Le informazioni settate in questi campi saranno quelle che paypal utilizzerà per il pagamento, è molto importante settarle correttamente.
Ai campi sotto la colonna NOME potete decidere voi che etichetta dare. Io li ho nominati come vedete. I campi sotto TIPO sono facilemnte settabili, basta sceglierli dai menu a scorrimento che trovate. OBBLIGATORIO e MOSTRA IN LOG, lo dice il nome stesso, sono campi il cui completamento sarà obbligatorio durante la procedura di acquisto, e poi visualizzati nel Log Acquisti. I dati che inserirete completando questo settaggio del plugin, sono gli stessi dati che vi verranno inviati tramite mail dopo che un acquirente ha cliccato il tasto per procedere al pagamento.
