Per un cliente uso WordPress e Google Analytics per le statistiche, ma ci sono molti problemi. A parte il fatto che personalmente ritengo Google Analytics una minaccia globale per la privacy, ma oltre queste paranoie da geek, ora ho anche dei dati alla mano che dimostrano quanto sia inaffidabile Google Analytics.
Dall’account Analytics infatti prendo il codice html e lo pongo sopra il tag . Conta scarse 10 visite al giorno! Ho fatto il check up dello script e Google dice che è tutto ok e che riceve correttamente i dati. Solo dalla dimensione dei file di log prevedevo che le statistiche di google erano veramente fittizzie, ma essendo di poca fede ho voluto controllare di persona.
Ho installato dei plugin per le statistiche. Dalla prima ricerca “WordPress Stats” è uscito il plugin WordPress.com Stats che richiede un API KEY. Non ho ben chiaro il motivo per cui serve questa API KEY e non ho ben chiaro neanche come vengono gestiti i dati, forse wordpress.com ha trovado un modo per leggere i dati dei blog, non so, quello che è certo è che WordPress.com Stats è veramente un plugin pietoso e noioso da installare!
Continuando la ricerca ho trovato molti plugin, li ho testati tutti, ma solo due sono degni di nota: “StatPress Reloaded” e “CyStats”.
Entrambi supportano la funzione SPIA per vedere in tempo reale chi sta facendo cosa. C’è anche la possibilita’ di salvare i log anonimizzando gli ip, ci sono le statistiche delle parole cercate, i referer, l’intercettazione dei bot, … insomma tutto l’occorrente per fare ottime statistiche.
Ho installato contemporaneamente entrambi i plugin, e non creano assolutamente conflitti. La visualizzazione è corretta, le pagine si caricano velocemente, e l’utente non nota nulla. I dati di navigazione degli utenti restano solo a voi che siete l’autore del blog, non ci sono intermediari, e non ci sono possibilita’ di perdere dati, infatti mentre con Google Analytics c’è sempre una certa percentuale di utenti invisibili dato che molti hanno aderito al boicottaggio contro Google, con i due plugin che vi ho consigliato potrete stare sicuri che i dati sono effettivi al 100% e nessuno vi potra’ sfuggire.
Inoltre c’è da dire che Google Analytics non è aggiornato in tempo reale, infatti dovrete aspettare diverse ore prima di poter accedere ai dati aggiornati dela giornata stessa. Con i due plugin che vi consiglio invece è tutto in tempo reale, vedrete proprio l’utente arrivare nel vostro sito, saprete il sito da cui arriva, cosa ha cercato per trovarvi, cosa sta vedendo, che altri link sta visitanto, cosa cerca nel vostro motore di ricerca interno e potrete cosi’ tracciarlo comodamente.
Dopo il tempo che ho perso per capire cosa non andava nelle mie tecniche da SEO, ho capito che il problema era intrinseco nella tecnologia di Google Analytics. Il sito del cliente in realta’ ora ha circa 180 visite di umani diversi al giorno!!! Spero che Analytics fallisca presto
